rachel didn't put effort into crafting him. when she's asked about him directly she literally has no clue what to say. she didn't wanna write his coming out scene bc she didn't "feel like it" and she never touched on any traumas and neurodivergent behaviors she gave him either

@kaylienki Like yes, it's romance and sex, but like it's set in the hockey world, so of course there's gonna be some complexities with the characters and the themes. It's like I feel like a lot y'all don't understand that books can have a main concept, with sub-themes and sub-plots.

Also, it's more than just hockey smut. It isn't some fantasy land. The characters are dealing with real world issues, and faced real world consequences. Like if we're gonna talk about the homophobia in hockey, than racism and ableism, specifically with Shane, should be addressed.
