My husband earns around 800k every month. Out of that, he gives me 200k for feeding and running the house, 60k for the children’s school needs, and another 100k for light bills, medicine, and little unexpected expenses. In total, about 360k comes into the home monthly, while he keeps the rest. Recently, I became curious about our finances and asked him how much he had saved over the years, but he avoided the conversation. Later, I checked and discovered he had about 14M saved. Honestly, after more than three years of work and all the sacrifices we’ve made as a family, I expected it to be much more. What confused me most is that my husband is not someone who spends recklessly. He eats at home most of the time, only buys lunch occasionally at work, and aside from helping family members once in a while and paying the children’s school fees, there’s nothing extravagant he does. When I asked him calmly to explain how the savings were only 14M, the conversation turned into an argument. Instead of answering me, he started bringing up my own salary and asking whether he had ever questioned the money in my account. Since then, the house has been tense and silent. This morning, he even said if I’m unhappy, I’m free to leave the marriage because he will never discuss his money with me. Now I’m honestly confused. Is it wrong for a wife to want transparency about the future of her family? Or did I overstep boundaries by checking his account and questioning his savings?

@sowore Bros are we saying there shouldn't be consequences for bad behaviors? I thought the plan was not to use police to harass people but to sue... Should they not be able to sue again?

Today, we are once again witnessing the reckless abuse of @policenh powers against social media users in Nigeria. What is even more disturbing is how some Nigerian celebrities now appear more eager than politicians and security agencies to throw largely poor young Nigerians into prison under the guise of “cybercrime,” simply because of internet banter or comments they dislike. I have read reports about singers like @Simi and @AdekunleGold allegedly using the police against critics online, and now similar allegations involving @ayrastarr and others keep surfacing. Meanwhile, these same celebrities sit comfortably among international stars abroad demanding respect and award for creative freedom and artistic expression, yet many of those global celebrities would never (and functioning systems) won’t let them weaponize the police, corrupt prosecutors, or compromised court judges against ordinary citizens over free speech or online commentary. This growing culture of criminalizing speech, jokes, criticism, trolling, and online banter is dangerous to democracy and fundamentally incompatible with freedom of expression. The real shame belongs to the irresponsible Nigeria Police Force @PoliceNG and sections of the justice system that continue enabling these abuses instead of protecting citizens’ rights. The police must stop acting as private enforcers for the rich, connected and powerful. Nigerians cannot continue to be shipped to prison because influential people are offended online. #RevolutionNow

@masurge7 Common now... Using the same yardstick, how are you so sure your guy who performed excellently well as a Gov would not perform so woefully in presidency? I've already given up after Buhari's saga

Under GEJ they said Fashola was exceptional in Lagos. He went to the Federal level and Failed exceptionally. Under OBJ they said Tinubu was outstanding in Lagos. He's currently at the Federal Level failing outstandingly like no man's business😭. The point is it's easy to think you're successful when you live UNDER your father's roof eating your mother's food. Update!!! Ilebaye’s dad is now sharing his side of the story 💔 - According to Ilebaye’s father, he revealed that when Ilebaye auditioned for the Big Brother Naija house, he supported her and when she went into the house the second time, himself and his friend supported her as she was up for eviction every week. - He revealed that after she won the Big Brother Naija All Stars season, she grew distant and refused to reach out to him. - He said he called her countless times and has been trying to see her more than 6 times so himself and Ilebaye can go to the people who supported her and appreciate them. - He also asked Ilebaye to take some of the money she got and help the less privileged, but Ilebaye refused to listen to him. - He said the hotel Ilebaye has been posting online as her own belongs to him and he has been really angry about the type of lifestyle she’s living. He feels she’s going on a self-destructive path. - He condemned Ilebaye for doing face reconstruction with fillers and getting a BBL. He expressed his disappointment, saying she’s too young for that. - He said there were times she would have misunderstandings with her mom and he would be the one trying to make peace between them, but Ilebaye never regarded him as a father. - He revealed that when he scolded her, instead of being scared or showing remorse, Ilebaye would charge towards him and hit him. - He accused her of hitting him twice without him saying anything because he loved her so much and she means a lot to him because she’s his favorite child. - He addressed the viral video, saying he hit her out of provocation to scold her because she was disrespectful to him and wouldn’t regard him with respect. - He said Ilebaye has not been nice to him financially, as he revealed that he’s battling high blood pressure. He had a medical check-up in Dubai and called Ilebaye to please help him with some funds, promising to refund her when he returned. - Ilebaye told him she didn’t have money, but to his surprise, he saw her video circulating online where she was spraying bundles of naira at Cross wedding. - He also addressed the mother situation, saying she’s always running away from the house and sometimes it would take her 8 months to come back, and that would only happen after the intervention of pastors. - He said he discussed his displeasure with Ilebaye and Ilebaye supported him in divorcing her mother, only for him to divorce her and Ilebaye to fight him over it. - He pleaded with Nigerians to forgive him and Ilebaye as they would like to resolve the family issues offline. He said he was arrested for hitting her, but it has been settled and the police have invited him again. What are you thoughts ?

Tragic news about Ilebaye and the assault she allegedly experienced at the hands of her father 💔 - Earlier today, the Big Brother All Stars winner, Ilebaye, went live on Instagram to cry out for help. - In the video, a man could be seen aggressively hitting her, while teenage boys in the background were heard begging him not to harm her. - A Twitter Space was later held where a lady identified as Meme revealed that Ilebaye’s mum allegedly endured years of abuse in the marriage before fleeing for her life a few years ago. - According to Meme, the father allowed the mum to leave with the girls but refused to give her custody of the boys. - The boys reached out to Ilebaye, telling her they had not been living well. Ilebaye informed her mum about it, but her mum warned her not to return to the house because the man was powerful and dangerous. - Ilebaye, who was supposed to celebrate her birthday yesterday, decided to visit the house for the sake of her brothers, hoping her dad would be gentle with her because it was her birthday, only to be met with severe beatings and a battered face. - Tacha, Beauty Tukura, and other influencers called out for help online, begging anyone in Abuja to assist her. - Tacha also revealed that she had often wondered why Ilebaye was not very active or productive online, saying she sometimes questioned her without knowing she was dealing with family issues. - Meme further said that after Ilebaye’s live video ended, police officers arrived at the house, but the father refused them entry and released dogs at the gate. - She also claimed that the father is well connected, making it difficult to stand up against him. - Beauty later revealed that Ilebaye had finally been rescued, although Ilebaye herself is yet to publicly address the situation. - Twitter users have been reacting to the situation, saying people never truly know what others are battling privately, while fans continue to pray for her recovery. Prayers up for Ilebaye 🙏🏼

What's wrong with Ilebaye's father fgs. So shameful on all sides
Trending Explained@TrendingEx

Ilebaye is trending because the BBnaija diva was beaten to a pulp by her father last night, turning her homecoming 25th birthday into a nightmare. [Extended Video] While details of the incident are fuzzy. Apparently, it was a full house with her siblings and mother. She allegedly has had a long misunderstanding with the dad and it finally escalated into a brutal confrontation and assault, reducing the mom and siblings to spectators. The dad, Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya a Kogi politician, locked the doors to keep them inside, and brutally assaulted Ilebaye with punches and kicks, for hours before she was finally able to reach the phone to call for help, as help wasn’t quick to arrive, she went live on instagram. According to neighbors, they could hear the ruckus but couldn’t gain entry, as the doors were shut tight. After she went on Instagram live around 12am with a swollen face, friends closeby in Abuja saw it, took action and rescued her around 2:30am. Unfortunately in the viral video, her young siblings tried to call off their dad from launching another attack, but he was very determined. Ilebaye Odiniya is the fourth child of eight kids, she won the BBnaija All Star edition in 2023, as a 22yr old lady with the viral tagline “Gen Z baddie”. Her dad made videos and granted interviews celebrating her triumph, and supporting her all through the journey, after her early eviction in the 2022 Level Up edition. Hon. Emmanuel Godson Odiniya is an ex-local council chairman from Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State, based in Abuja. Ilebaye and her dad have always had a tv-close relationship, forcing fans to only wonder what went wrong. Some are calling for his arrest, others feel it is his right to discipline his child. However, Beauty Tukura her colleague from Level Up has confirmed she’s safe, but it’s her story to tell, so she won’t be disclosing any details. This story will definitely be updated, follow @TrendingEx for updates.

WHY THE SENATE? I have spent years calling out the problems. Now I am seeking the platform to implement the solutions. From the outside, I could shout. From the inside, I can legislate. From the outside, I could demand. From the inside, I can enforce. A better Abuja will not build itself. It requires constitutional power

“Igbo-phobia is real. I’m not even joking. There’s someone who has been asking me out for a while now. I’ve never encouraged it, never taken anything from him, and I’m not interested. That’s just background. This morning at the office, someone mentioned a discussion on Arise TV about Peter Obi and Kwankwaso. Before I could even respond, this same man jumped into the conversation with so much intensity and said, “God forbid an Igbo man becomes president.” I was shocked. He went further to say that it would be over his dead body, that he dreads Igbo people, and that he would rather suffer than be led by an Igbo man. I asked him why. I genuinely wanted to understand where that level of hatred comes from. His response? “Igbo man? God forbid. I would rather die.” In that moment, something shifted for me. We often hear people blame history, especially the civil war, but let’s be honest this kind of deep-rooted hatred didn’t start there, and it hasn’t ended there either. For the first time in a long time, I felt unsafe. And for the first time in my life, I caught myself wondering what it would mean for Igbo people to truly look inward and prioritize their own safety and future. This isn’t about politics. This is about humanity. No one should be hated simply for where they come from. You would rather a whole country crumbles than give an Igbo man a chance. And on a personal note if you carry that kind of hatred for Igbo people, there is no space for friendship with me. I take my safety seriously. We can’t keep pretending this isn’t real.” 𝐶𝑅𝐸𝐷𝐼𝑇: Chioma Onyenze

Dear Constituents and Nigerians, The comments suggesting that the selection of beneficiaries for the China, Taiwan, and South Africa training sponsorships was influenced by tribal considerations. I consider it important to clarify the facts. These international sponsorship opportunities are not constituency projects funded through any statutory allocation. They are goodwill initiatives personally facilitated to support the growth, exposure, and empowerment of residents of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II. The objective has always been simple: to create opportunities for our people to gain global knowledge, skills, and experience that can be brought back home for personal and community development. For transparency, the first batch of beneficiaries was selected strictly from the pool of applicants who responded and submitted their interest when the opportunity was announced. The second batch was equally chosen based on merit, qualification, and readiness to maximize the programme. At no point was ethnicity, tribe, or personal affiliation used as a basis for selection. My commitment remains to serve every resident of Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II fairly, regardless of background, religion, or ethnic identity. I strongly believe leadership should be measured by impact, access, and opportunities created for the people, not by divisive narratives intended to distract from genuine progress. More opportunities will continue to come, and I encourage all eligible residents to position themselves and apply when such openings are announced. I will continue to build a stronger and more empowered Oshodi-Isolo Constituency II.
