@snakestry In Europe you can just put on a brave face and endure a Ryanair flight for the equivalent of like $25-$30.... If I could do that, you bet I would be jet setting around Europe right now!!!!

Also traveling abroad is really fucking expensive in the US. Like if I wanted to do a week long trip to Europe, it would run me close to $4k (almost half of that is just the plane ticket). That’s like 5 years worth of savings for me. It’s not happening lol.

everyone keeps pointing out how large the u.s. is to explain why americans don’t have passports/don’t travel abroad but no one’s talking about the fact that most americans don’t get that much time off of work to justify taking a trip abroad

🧵Not to be a sappy bitch but one of my favorite things about Minnesota is the day after a big snow storm when everybody is outside walking their dog, or digging their car out of a snow bank, or snow shoeing down the side walk, and the sense of comradie is off the charts.

Update: cake was beautiful and perfect, and as I took it from my car and turned toward Noel’s I slipped on a patch of ice. I heroically saved the cake by tossing it out like a frisbee as I fell. it landed safely a few feet from me.
Tragically, I broke my butt in the process.
