Behind the Bars is an annual, student-driven, interdisciplinary confeton mass incarceration held by the Center for Justice at Columbia University. On March 23rd-March 25th 2023. Beyond the Bars will hold its first meeting in the South, in Atlanta Georgia, at Morehouse College.

In an effort to support investments in Human Justice, Senator Chuck Schumer, has announced an allocation of $2Million Dollars to Community Capacity Development to support various categories of Gun Violence Prevention programs and services.

Community Capacity Development condemns the killing of Tyre Nichols by law enforcement officers in Memphis. This institutionalized police culture that allows such impunity on Black and Brown people in this country to bear the brunt of Police brutality is unacceptable.
