Our Netball Club has been crowned National Super League Champions for the year 2025 having edged closest rivals - Prisons Netball Club in December last year. This victory comes after a 42-year drought having last won the league in 1983. With this achievement, the ladies directly qualified to represent Uganda at the East Africa Netball Club Championship (EANA) scheduled for 10th to 16th May 2026 in Nairobi - Kenya. Well in Ladies. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Today, led by @KCCAED@Buzeki_Sharifah, we had a field tour of some of the ongoing Greater Kampala Metropolitan Area — Urban Development Program (GKMA-UDP) to assess progress. #KCCAatWork progressing well on Kira (Nakawa Division), Mukalazi and Muganzilwazza (Kawempe Division), Bemba and Cape Villas/Wavamunno (Makindye Division) roads. Improving these roads will enhance economic productivity and social wellness by reducing severe traffic congestion within the city. #ForALivableCity

It was a mix of excitement and emotion at Kitante Primary School earlier in the day as the Lord Mayor, @EriasLukwago_ joined pupils for a Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Day reading session. Marking what he said would be his last participation in the Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Day as Lord Mayor, he urged pupils to believe in themselves, read hard and have hope that they can make it. Not known in the Political circles, applied and emerged winner on merit, @Buzeki_Sharifah is slowly engraving her performance in the hearts of Ugandans. Without a budget, but a short and long broom, she has been able to sweep and dust Kampala to acceptable standards. That means that, with the will and effort, we can live in a city an opportunity we've missed in a long time. @KCCAED @Buzeki_Sharifah with her hands on efforts, reaching without sending, participating without delegating, @KCCAUG is already shaping and working with Kampalans and stakeholders hand in hand to rectify what is wrong. Personally, I've gained confidence that if given finances, she'll curtail over the long hands and the slipperly pens that have for long seen public funds shared amongst sharks using long hands and slipperly pens that always sign contracts that are not in favor of the public. Now, the enforcement of the decisions already taken shall require all road users and city dwellers to participate by immediately reporting incidents happening where enforcement has cleared. After all, it has been clearly seen that, she responds to the public outcry. Let's all pledge to support her to make our city our pride. I salute you @Buzeki_Sharifah.

At the invite of the Structured Imams and Amirates Assembly Uganda, i paid them a visit at their offices in Ttula Kawempe. They took me around their offices where they offer skilling in bakery, tailoring and computer use to their members. I urged the members to take advantage of the existing @GovUganda programs like PDM but also utilise the skilling opportunities offered freely at the @KCCAUG Employment Services Bureau. I pledged to support them with 05 sewing machines and material to use for learning. As the month of Ramadan is coming to a close, i implored our moslem brothers and sisters to remain united, because if we are united we can achieve the greater good for all.

I had the honour of launching the National Sanitation Week 2026, organized by the Ministry of Health under the theme “Accelerating Safely Managed Sanitation for a Healthier Uganda. Safely managed sanitation is not just about infrastructure,it is about protecting public health, safeguarding our environment, and upholding human dignity. It is a responsibility we all share, requiring collective action from government institutions, partners, communities, and households. This year’s Sanitation Week, which commenced on 16th March 2026 and will be crowned in Fort Portal on 19th March 2026, calls upon every Ugandan and resident of Kampala to embrace and practice good sanitation. It begins with our bodies, extends to our homes, workplaces, and communities, and ultimately shapes the livability of our city and nation. As @KCCAUG , we remain steadfast in advancing safely managed sanitation and strengthening hygiene practices. Together, we can build a healthier, cleaner, and more resilient Kampala—one that reflects the pride and dignity of its people. Let us all play our part. A healthier Uganda starts with each of us.

Dear @joshjeje2 ,thank you for this question. In the Strategic plan of KCCA we are tackling traffic jam. We plan to introduce Electric buses, engagements with local bus service providers are ongoing. The buses will be deployed along the major corridors. Working with Ministry of Works and Transport (@MoWT_Uganda ), @RailwaysUganda we are double tracking the passenger rail services on available railway corridors but ultimately there one major solution: GET PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR PRIVATE CARS TO: 1. Walk 2. Cycle 3. Use mass transit i.e MGR,BRT,LRT MGR- Meter Guage Railway From Mukono to Bujuuko BRT - Bus Rapid Transit Mukono to Kampala Gayaza to Kampala Kampala to Kajjansi LRT- Light Railway Transit New Routes to Kira, to Matugga, to Nakisunga with a circular LRT along Northern Bypass and the Southern Bypass When fully implemented ,traffic jam will drastically reduce.
Jeje Odea 🇺🇬@joshjeje2

Dear KCCA, aside from washing roads and planting of grass, do you have any plan for traffic jam in the city?
