stefan van de graaff (director of “one of us”) talks about kit connor in “romeo + juliet”:
host: “[kit] played romeo on broadway, but i believe that was after you’d cast it. so you really got him exactly...the shakespearean language in time.”
second host: “after doing it, he was like, ‘you know what? i kind of want to do theater now.’”
stefan: “i don’t know. well, it was funny because at one point he did message me and he was like, ‘hey, can i show a screener of the film to somebody?’ and he didn’t tell me who he was sharing it with. but then it was a few months later that he was cast in the romeo project. i was like, i wonder if the director was, you know, ‘hey, can you do something in this world?’ and he was like, ‘yeah, i can definitely do something in this world.’ and i don’t know that, so maybe that’s not a fair assessment—”
host: “i mean, two plus two is four.”
stefan: “yeah, but two plus two is four, a little bit. and he was great. i went and saw him on broadway in new york with rachel zegler, and they were fantastic. the two of them were really, really remarkable on stage, as you might imagine.”
