Happy Birthday America! Turns out you are more interested in holding on to wealth, power, and bigotry than living up to your ideals. We MUST do better. The American promise requires us to prioritize equality, opportunity, and justice. This Supreme Court betrays our ideals.

The Supreme Court was wrong. As a member of the @harvardmed community and graduate of @Harvard, I have personally benefited from the diversity @Harvard. I believe that diversity and opportunity are key to our mission. I commit to help build a more diverse community in the future.

@CatsVaxnNatSec @drkellyscriven I made my original comment because the idea that you “don’t want to deal with parents” is not ok. All medical care should be made in a family or community centered way which means finding ways to invite the family. It involves patience, empathy, and TIME. But it improves care.

@CatsVaxnNatSec @drkellyscriven I’m not arguing for family members being present against the wishes of the patient but rather that a care model which invites participation from family members should be the norm. In care settings the balance of privacy and family involvement may clearly skew towards privacy.

@CatsVaxnNatSec @drkellyscriven These issues do not start at 18 and adolescent health care settings are accustomed to prioritizing privacy. However in many cases privacy is a nonissue and having invested members of the family will improve care.

This is what pill boxes are for. Only way to live!
