In San Francisco, we are transforming our homelessness and behavioral health response. This @nytimes piece takes a closer look at the progress and the work still ahead. We are getting people the care they need, making our public spaces safer for everyone, and bringing more accountability to government services. The job is far from finished, but the positive direction is clear. Let’s keep going. nytimes.com/2026/04/06/opi…

We're proud to lead Connect Bay Area to address these critical $$ shortages. We're also proud of the strong efficiency & accountability measures we fought for that require our transit agencies to operate better and smarter. No more business as usual usatoday.com/story/news/cal…

It’s a well meaning law, but I agree with you that it can make it unnecessarily difficult when dealing with a complex condition for a child. I had a hard time accessing post-surgical information after my son had surgery, and these rules made it almost impossible for me to pay a hospital bill after an emergency room visit last year.

California has some of the dumbest laws in the nation. My 12-yo son is a child. He’s growing up, but he is a child. Period It’s insane that - if dealing with a complex medical condition - parents have to ask their kids for permission to access. No one can convince me otherwise

11 years today. We miss you, Dad. Born in Budapest, 1946 — he was a child when the Hungarian Revolution unfolded blocks from his home. He immigrated to the US in 1960, became a citizen in 1964, and never stopped believing in what this country stood for. His story feels especially important to remember right now. independent.com/obits/2015/02/…

ICYMI: One of the hardest lessons in leadership is that silence often feels safe — until it isn’t. By the time the risks are obvious, the damage is already underway. This is one of those moments for our profession. 📖news.bloomberglaw.com/legal-exchange…

When my op-ed published this morning in @BLaw, I didn’t know that today would be the day @DiversityLabCo would pause its programs. This is what complacency and silence produce. Real programs. Real people. Real harm. Waiting it out hasn’t worked. Now is the moment to stand together—before it’s too late.

Opinion: The time has come for the legal profession to move from caution to coordination to push back against undue influence from political power brokers. news.bloomberglaw.com/legal-exchange…

After years of litigation to confirm moving a zip line for kids doesn’t need environmental review, imagine if we’d used those resources to actually build playgrounds instead. 🛝 Yet another reason why we need CEQA reform — to shift from saying “no” to building the abundance and fun our communities need.
Liam Dillon@dillonliam

A California state appellate court has determined that moving playground equipment — a small zip line to be specific — from one spot to another does NOT require formal environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act cp-dr.com/articles/movin…

Thank you, @CAgovernor, for standing up for science and for our children. As President of @MedBoardOfCA—and as a mom—I know the real harm caused when medicine is politicized. I'm proud that California will continue to lead with evidence-based care and put the health of kids and families first.
Governor Gavin Newsom@CAgovernor

This reckless move by the Trump Administration has nothing to do with science or informed choice – it’s about appeasing a debunked anti-vaccine agenda being pushed by RFK Jr. and his allies. I strongly condemn this decision that puts infants and children at real risk.
