@MPJulian But here's where the cynicism creeps in. When opposition voices, like Andrew Coyne, dismiss the NDP's suggestions as needless complications it exposes how narrow their view of the problem truly is. Shouldn't the inquiry be as thorough as possible if it is to restore public trust?

So no, NDP suggestions that an inquiry look at "not just look at Chinese state interference but also the activities of countries such as Russia & India" or "state-owned foreign media and how to improve the role of Elections Canada" in countering their activities are not helpful.
