@StanCollymore It's not just about the standards though. It is becoming increasingly obvious, and more people are starting to see (ironically has become more apparent with VAR), that it's not just poor decisions, it's the difference in interpretation depending on the teams affected.

The Premier League need to get a firm grip on refereeing standards and decisions pronto, because if I'm right ( reading a lot of tweets from supporters of ALL clubs since the King decision) the concern about standards is at, if not beyond tipping point. We no longer know what is being punished and why and it's making many a game simply unwatchable. Listen to people @premierleague @FA_PGMOL, you're losing the room.

Did wonder how they would manage it with introduction of VAR. Clearly they decided, fuck it, do it anyway. What's anyone gonna do about it ? Bring back the super league !

@johntownley11 Been fined for breaking the rule in place to speed up restarts, by restarting too quickly ? as punishment, that system has been taken away so the game will be slower ? if not in place assume ball boys again ? Or are players expected to run round the pitch getting the one ball ?

Aston Villa have been fined £125,000 after accepting they breached the Premier League's multiball rules in five matches last season. The club will also be prohibited from operating the multiball system in its first three home league matches of this coming campaign. #AVFC
