Kentucky lawmakers have approved a “Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway.” It’s the latest in a wave of efforts nationwide to memorialize the conservative activist who was assassinated last September during a college speaking event. courier-journal.com/story/news/pol…

According to Rep. @realTJRoberts, the designation is at the same site as a memorial rally that was held after Kirk’s death. You can read more about that rally here: cincinnati.com/story/news/202…

A Charlie Kirk Memorial Highway is coming to Kentucky. Lawmakers have just concurred on SJR 139, which would rename several highways for notable figures. The section named for Kirk will be along Kentucky Route 18 in Northern Boone County, for those curious.

An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated it was route 338, which should be a reminder to everyone not to tweet after midnight!!

Kentucky lawmakers have added a provision that would create a statue of Sen. Mitch McConnell in the capitol into the appropriations bill HB 757. The free conference committee report hasn’t been uploaded yet but State Sen. Chris McDaniel just spoke about it on floor.

One of the most notable bills passed today was HB 139, which makes a number of changes to election law in Kentucky. That, plus other legislation that crossed the finish line today, with @keely_doll: courier-journal.com/story/news/pol…

HB 607, which would change how Ethics Commission members are appointed in consolidated metros like Louisville and allow council caucuses to hire their own council, has passed the Senate.

HB 422, known as "Logan's Law", which would curb early release for violent offenders, has passed in the Senate. It's gone through a couple of changes, including amending the original sections that would've scrapped Kentucky’s “not guilty by reason of insanity” verdict.

Big news of the day (so far at least): A circuit court judge has voided the impeachment filing against Judge Julie Goodman, as he says it overrides checks and balances and is not based on criminal conduct. Case still pending in Supreme Court courier-journal.com/story/news/pol…

KY Gov. Andy Beshear has vetoed SB 199, which could make it harder for Kentuckians to sue pesticide manufacturers. The bill briefly united Democrats and MAHA Republicans in both chambers in opposition to the bill. courier-journal.com/story/news/pol…
