Brian de Keersmaecker 🇧🇪 Oxford U 🟡⚫️🟡 #bristolcity you’d imagine if Bird and / or Knight are off this window, that BDK would be under consideration. Looks like he is on several clubs’ radar, and along with Mills missing with an illness last night (cough, cough!)

@andclements @JamesSaintJames @patmurphybbc There’s a danger of rewriting history just because Rooney’s made a good impression as a pundit. Blues were in the playoffs under Eustace with all the resources of the new American owners behind them. They then appointed Rooney who led them down the table to the bottom 3

With one comment Wayne Rooney’s entered the upper echelon of football pundits. Good for him. Very popular with local reporters who covered his initial attempts at management. Open & honest. Now one of those u expect to say something surprising in the studio. A star this WCup.

@keith_hickling @patmurphybbc Not true. He is still highly regarded at Derby, where he held the club together, practically single-handed, during administration. He even paid for some expenses out of his own pocket. His press conferences were always interesting and insightful, and his punditry is similar.

@JDNalton Agree that he should have tried that as a first option. But Tuchel had given himself limited alternatives in central midfield by only taking Henderson (who even without the injury was probably never going to play) and Mainoo (who he seems not to trust)

Agree England started to retreat before subs due to fatigue. I think the remedy should have been to bring on fresher players in the same system, rather than move to a back 5 which encouraged an even deeper line and invited Argentina on even more, making a bad situation worse.
Michael Cox@Zonal_Marking

Same old England. On first viewing I thought Tuchel’s subs were disastrous. On second viewing, the retreat happened beforehand, a consequence of Argentina pushing on & England being exhausted. The three defensive subs did make sense. Analysis here…⬇️ nytimes.com/athletic/74485…

Finishing the London Marathon on Sunday. Was struggling in the heat at halfway so took it easy and made sure I enjoyed the experience on a glorious Spring day. No more road marathons for me - back to the trails and shorter distances on the road

Great day out in the Quantocks with the lad. One of my favourite places to walk, particularly on a fine, clear day. “Upon smooth Quantock’s airy ridge we roved, unchecked…” Wordsworth
