VCU's rally from 19 points down (56-37 with 13:50 remaining) is the sixth biggest comeback in tournament history, and is the second biggest second-half deficit ever, behind Nevada's 22-point rally against Cincinnati in 2018. The record is 25 (BYU vs. Iona in the 2012 First Four).

It’s interesting that high-majors suddenly become much more vulnerable against mid-majors when they have to play them in real life rather than in hypothetical internet arguments. Something to consider for sure

Personally think the First Four was the perfect spot for Miami (Ohio). They get to prove that they belong (which they do), that they can beat Power-Four teams (which they can) and that they’re one of the 64 best teams in the country (which they are).

NIT should become the mid major national championship. 32 teams to include all conferences outside BIG10/BIGE/BIG12/ACC/SEC.
Start tournament after 1st round of NCAA. Mid majors who lose 1st round join the bracket. Play the championship game at the site of the Final 4. DO IT!

The idea of Venezuela being a "bad team" beating a "good team" is offensive. USA has been a limp fish with incredible players that simply failed. The commentary during the WBC has been borderline ethnicist.
