Quite the journey Digital ID has been on since PM announced… Darren Jones to @KateEMcCann this morning admitting: - No idea of cost. Says OBR figure is wrong but can’t say higher or lower as “haven’t consulted yet” - Not clear what ID which actually involved, “we haven't consulted yet on what it is that we're trying to build and how we're going to build it.” - It may only just get in before next election “the minimum viable case will come in 2029 when the Prime Minister wants people to be able to digitally verify their rights to work.” @TimesRadio
