You may not agree with me, but you will always know where you stand with me. Today in Billericay, a heckler tried to shout me down as I spoke about the normalisation of hatred towards Jews. I did not back down, because it needs to be said. British Jews are being targeted and too many people are pretending this is the same experience of other minorities. This lady implied Muslims are being similarly targeted. This is simply not true. Let's be honest about what is happening. Certain groups (in particular but not solely Islamic Extremists) are creating a climate of fear and intimidation that is normalising Jew hatred. I will never stand for that. Governments have spent too long hand-wringing, making excuses and hoping it would go away. It is time to call this what it is: a national emergency in our attitude, our urgency and our response. I will always engage with people who disagree with me. That is politics. But there is a difference between argument and intimidation. Shouting does not make a bad case good. It's done to silence others. And it certainly does not change the truth. The truth is that British Jews have been made to feel less safe in their own country. Our country. They are being singled out, threatened and harassed in ways that should shame everyone in public life. If we do not stand up now and stop this rise in antisemitism, then why bother saying "Never Again" at Holocaust Memorial Day? Because this is how it starts. I am not prepared to play along with the pretence that this is normal, or manageable, or just another example of tension between groups. It really is not. It is targeted hatred and it is getting worse. So my message is simple. Not here. Not in Britain. And not on our watch. We need to stop the hand-wringing and start doing the right thing. That means standing with British Jews openly, unapologetically and without fear.

Thankyou @Katie_Lam_MP for describing so clearly the way that the executive leadership of @UKLabour is hardwired to ensure the continued “persecution by process” of our country’s soldiers.

Lord Hermer is Keir Starmer's most senior legal adviser. He worked with a convicted fraudster to drag British soldiers through the courts over false claims. Now, he wants to let activist lawyers do the same to veterans who served in Northern Ireland.

This is exactly the country that we have become. And it is a choice. We need to choose now if this is who we want to be.... As usual @holland_tom is one of those people who are not afraid to say this clearly: 'It’s all too clear that a country in which Jews are attacked on the streets simply because they are Jewish, synagogues need to employ security, & anti-Semitic slogans & images are paraded through city centres or exhibited in art galleries is exactly what we’ve become.' If this is not who we are (and it is fiercely opposed to the values and spirit of modern British tolerance and decency) then we need those in public life to change their approach radically. Instead of just repeating these embarrassing 'safety' phrases that are now meaningless and indeed hostages of the real racists who are now running amok in British politics and media - and otherwise doing nothing, they need to define what antisemitism looks like in 2026, say they are against it and show they are against it... There are a series of changes and measures - some legal, most policing and others semantic and moral (I will hopefully work on some of these) - that need to be taken now by the our leaders....and followed by the many cheerleaders in TV news and podcastery who need to understand the power of words and ideas but also respect facts and history.... (By the way, the fact that roughly at the time when this terrorist was stabbing Jews in London, the Mayor of London has flown Madrid to discuss Gaza with a foreign leader is a preposterous illustration of this very serious problem) .... and these things need to be done and said before Britain - yes Britain - becomes infamous as the naive, self-righteous, hipocritical home of the murderous new antiJudaism of the 21st century...

I genuinely had to check if this was real. The University of Exeter now offers a PhD in Magic and Occult Science. Even if you don’t believe in any of it, the sheer number of absurd courses our universities are offering students is staggering. I would love to shut this down.

Gen. David Petraeus: The question is how best to ensure that its legal architecture supports, rather than inadvertently constrains, the effectiveness of those it asks to serve. The maximalist approach championed by [Hermer] ... does not appear to meet this challenge. Lawfare poses a grave risk to Britain’s military spectator.com/article/lawfar…

Morgan McSweeney reveals that Sir Keir Starmer held a meeting in mid-December where a decision was made to appoint Lord Mandelson as US ambassador There is no record of this meeting. There is no minute of the discussions or the reasoning behind the appointment at the time. The Cabinet Office simply can't find it. It does not appear to exist So a really significant meeting on the appointment of the US ambassador - one which has had huge ramifications for Starmer's premiership - only appears to exist in the memory of those who were present

Upsetting to think that St Hilda's college, a great seat of women's learning, set up in the face of opposition and with little financial help in the 19th century, is now a place where a male SCR member can wear insulting 'womanface' to work and basically enact a fetish in public

I served in various capacities in Bosnia, Kosovo, Macedonia and Afghanistan. I despise Lord Hermer. Of course we must hold our military personnel to the highest standards in both peace and war, including the Rules of War. They would want and expect nothing less. But war is, by its very nature, the most extreme of human experiences. It is brutal. It is unforgiving. It is deadly. It is often chaotic, confused and terrifying and, in that environment, our armed forces are tasked with destroying the enemy through the controlled application of overwhelming violence. It is an environment that would no doubt break Hermer and his ilk. They are not worthy so much as to lick the boots of the amazing men and women who defend our nation - people prepared to risk their lives in the blood and the dust of foreign lands to keep slugs like him safe at home. I do not use such words lightly, but Hermer is scum.

The bottom line, says Williams, is that they understand “war is won by violence. And the moment in which you outlaw violence, you can no longer conduct war.
