Conor Dean joined a very exclusive group on Saturday evening as he became just the third captain to lift the #EnergiaAIL Division 1A title for @StMarysRFC . Following in the footsteps of Trevor Brennan in 2000 and Hugh Hogan in 2012, Dean captained his side to a memorable 46-31 victory over Clontarf at the Aviva Stadium, even adding his own name to the scoresheet with a try in the final. Speaking after the on-field celebrations, he reflected on what had been an emotional week for the club following the passing of Breda Fogarty. Having joined St Mary’s back in 2016 and reaching centurion status this season, this moment was one of huge significance for Dean, though he admitted the magnitude of the achievement had yet to fully sink in. It was a fitting milestone for Dean, leading his side to glory and cementing his place in the club’s history.
