The “Metro Effect” …. christened here first. 🚇 Delighted to see Metro finally moving forward. Expect clear price inflation for homes within walking distance of the new stations, particularly along the corridor from Glasnevin to Estuary. For areas not currently served by @Luas this will be a true game-changer. The announcement to acquire a strip of houses on Dartmouth Square is a good move and will offer a good return to the state — benefiting from asset appreciation and ‘Metro Effect’ simultaneously. Killing two birds with one stone as such! And from a user perspective? The idea of stepping onto the Metro straight from @DublinAirport is transformative. Here’s hoping delivery happens in phases to unlock benefits sooner rather than later. Seriously, I am not sure if the 14% & 9% who completed this survey are all working for Dermot Desmond or Michael O'Leary (both of whom are great business men) but neither want the @MetroLink_ie to go ahead but I for one who just paid for my parking in Dublin Airport would have much preferred to jump on a Metro to get back to my office this afternoon rather than driving accross the city! Metro will be great for Dublin as the planners are seriously curtailing car parking in new housing developments so the capital requires the best public transport system it can get and before you say it the bus is not the sole answer... @IrishTimes @TransportIre @DublinAirport

📢 DNG Pre-Budget 2026 Submission Delivered. Today, @dng_ie submitted our Pre-Budget 2026 recommendations to the Minister for Finance and the Minister for Housing, Local Government & Heritage.
