This is what I've called "the logic of parasitism"
For your band of parasites to not turn on each other they have to some up with some reason why they're not actually parasites - their theft is justified - and the justification is that the host is actually the criminal and the parasitism is actually justice
This is why they can never stop or even be "grateful"
