Finally got the twins weapon with the new patch reward crystals so now it’s time to save up for the anni character whoever it may be… I’m glad that the p3r collab motivated me to finally actually play p3r (loving it) but I will not be pulling for Makoto to be honest

OR the ones where the Japanese title/abbreviation is just way snappier. Like Danmachi why would I type out the full English title or like try to type out an unwieldy acronym like IIWTTTPUGIAD when I can just call it danmachi lol

Not to mention getting into some of these things before they got picked up for official translations… BnHA was all I knew it as (was pretty much all it was known as) when I first picked it up

There are definitely some that both the Japanese and localized title are/have been used at similar rates on online boards etc tho. Shingeki BnHA etc I think those are fine but yea like if I see a random person typing Jojo no Kimyou na Boken in English I might raise an eyebrow

one example of performative behavior i've noticed for years is where when a piece of japanese media has a very widely used localized name in english some fans of it will insist on using the japanese name anyway for some reason. very "place, japan" vibes

@punchthekeysfgs @insanenredacted It’s on the nose like that because it’s a fan-made (read: unprofessional) translation of a made up Japanese word that just happened to catch on in the fandom as the “correct” English title even tho it’s never been used officially
