@NikReyno I never doubted your good will and pure heart, I know you only have good intentions in your soul, and I could probably tell if someone tried to mimic your words or style or character. But I don't know enough about God to do the same; and consistency is a big question here.

Well.. I can only speak for myself & what I’ve learned thus far… the word for what you’re referring to is “discernment”. Discerning God’s will/voice/prompting from anything/anyone else. I don’t know much but this much I know: God doesn’t contradict himself. Context always illustrates God’s consistent character & what he values & abhors. What is from God, always aligns with his word in the bible. Imagine getting “messages” (voice or texts) from someone/something that claims to be me… you then have to discern if those messages really sound like me. Because we’ve become friends & have spent time engaging together with others in these conversations, you’ve come to know how I sound & how I tend to speak & maybe noticed my tendencies of thought & passion or anger in different things. So, you could probably tell the difference when someone is pretending to be me or at least feel something’s off. That’s what happens the more you spend time in God’s word & in prayer, listening for his voice… acting & engaging with what you feel/hear from him… opening yourself up to be led by the Holy Spirit… surrendering, actively nurturing a genuine relationship with God. You experience consistencies that align with scriptural history examples… you build on each experience time after time & then you start to really see what Jesus meant when he said “My sheep know my voice.” 💜 I hope that helps. No one else could “KNOW” what God is telling you… but engaging with & surrounding yourself with fellow believers, in my experience, also allows for this amazing thing that God does to prove he’s engaging with all of us… he will speak things to each of us separately & in our obedience in being vulnerable.. we share, we pray, & then get shocked by the recognition of alignment. God knows our skepticism.. which is why he does his best work through Obedient Hearts 😊🫶🏼 Community holds people accountable to not get prideful & manipulative. God helps point that out if/when we’re blinded by things (comfort, convenience, greed, fear, control etc). Active surrender to God & continuously seeking Him helps hone all that. At least, that’s what’s proven to be of help to me 💜 Here are just a “few” verses of what the bible says about discernment & how it’s used.
