there’s something about rip saying that’s not where you want to be when beth says she’ll be right beside him because i know he’s always protective of her but i think he’s even more protective of the peace she’s grasping onto. he wants her to have that 😭 and it makes me insane

@kellreill I like that Beth put him in school so he can get a proper education and have a better shot at life than Rip, even if he doesn’t see it that way right now. But I also feel like it was written to create conflict between them because she won’t be okay with him dropping out.

i’m also of the mind he did not go to school in dillon so this really is just his first experience. texas was a brand new start for everyone. it was just bethrip and carter in that small montana town, and rio paloma might be school, but it’s a whole population for carter
