It’s such a pleasure being in a band with such talented musicians - especially ones as willing to take such detailed instructions as ‘do something double stoppy here’ or ‘this needs something that sounds like dingdongdingdong here’

This was genuinely one of my favourite records to do together as a band. Iestyn’s drums were done in 3 takes, Jack smashed the bass out of the park, and Connor got to spend an afternoon trying out different guitars and amps and pedals to build the perfect sound.

Blind Obedience is the song we’ve played live the most, in the biggest variety of styles. We’ve done it with a band, and solo, we’ve done it with harmonica and with accordion - it even used to have a violin on it! We can’t wait for you to hear this latest version

We’ve always wanted to record a version that  captures our authentic live sound and we’ve finally got around to it.

We actually first recorded Blind Obedience back in 2017. However, we’ve moved on a fair bit since then with Ben, Connor, Jack and Iestyn establishing themselves  as our regular line-up.

The big news is that The Kelly Line is soon to be extended! Ben and Amy are expecting a baby in August. Not surprisingly things have been a little hectic! However, we’ve managed to find time to record a new single - Blind Obedience - which is due out on June 27th.

My first single of the year is being released later today 💙

The countdown to 10 years of The Kelly Line has begun, and the wine is well and truly flowing. Happy new year folx

i have a pitch for @Wikipedia: instead of asking for $3 every time i open the site, you should host a yearly celebrity-filled gala. tickets should cost enough to keep the site going and each year's theme should be a wikipedia page generated at random

There are plenty of cool places to play a guitar but out there on the prairie, sitting around a camp fire under a blanket of stars is surely one of them.

We also knew he’d have some adventures and that he’d be tested. Inevitably, there would be some difficult moments, but we always knew he’d come through in the end.

We started writing No Reason on the day that Cowboy Song was first released. It’s a song sung by a lonesome cowboy around a campfire late at night, a song that is sung by a cowboy beholden to nobody or nothing, a song that nobody else ever hears.
