I recently learned about Natural Language Processing in Python and wrote a tutorial about it! @kellylougheed Hi Kelly! You can format your HTML code by using "ctrl+s" and it will align your nesting!

Hey @replit, you don't happen to have a formatting button for HTML code, do you? I'm about to teach middle schoolers to make grids with HTML/CSS, and the nested divs get kind of tricky for them...

@angichau The "do now" was to write 2-3 prompts on separate slips of paper that I provided them (I gave some example prompts too, from the concrete to the abstract). Then we put them all in a jar and they chose randomly out of the jar!

Amazing!!! I’m about to do it with my 6th graders in a couple of weeks since they are starting their CS class now. 😍 Love that they generated their own prompts - how did you structure that?
Kelly Lougheed@kellylougheed

Today I did @angichau's p5.js charades activity with 8th graders, and it was a total hit! Immediate student buy-in, probably from having them generate their own prompts! #iteachcs #csk8

@morrill_rob @microbit_edu I wonder if it will be different working with a larger codebase -- for example, would ChatGPT be able to implement a new feature in the Twitter codebase, or would that be better done by a human who is familiar with the codebase?

@kellylougheed @microbit_edu People will, of course be needed to supervise the AI and they will understand whether the given effects are correct or not. But if the effects are incorrect, they could just give more detailed directions, no?

I instructed the AI ChatGPT to write code in Python for the @microbit_edu to make lights go on under low light conditions. I typed in the code exactly as ChatGPT wrote it (including comments). Works as expected. Wow.

@morrill_rob @microbit_edu Hmm, let's say ChatGPT could write flawless, complex programs - I still think a human needs to supervise the machines & understand what they're doing! Also, a friend pointed out to me that sometimes the hard part is defining the problem (aka giving ChatGPT an appropriate prompt)

@kellylougheed @microbit_edu Interesting though bec this tech is in its late infancy / early toddler years. Like a child, it’s going to learn more & more from experience. Will we be teaching kids to code in 5 or 10 years? It also wrote a convincing Christmas email message from me with specific parameters.

Two notes: 1 - I teach at an all-girls school, hence the emphasis on women 2 - This was inspired by a similar command line treasure hunt activity by @jolson_codes!

Do I apply for a job that I'm probably grossly under-qualified for? Asking for a friend. (Narrator: The "friend" was, in fact, Rebecca.)

For some reason I am not able to get user input with R using scan or readline on @replit. I want the user to be able to type in things like their name or numbers (which I realize isn't typical use of R). Has anyone figured this out?
