I don't agree and I bleed Carolina Blue. I just think the Duke model of multiple one and dones is not a formula for winning national championships. It's possible but you're still advancing with a crew of freshmen, albeit very talented, who are subject to making bad decisions.

Getting a budget done in the short session allows for Republicans to take back momentum, and would serve as a positive capstone for Senator Berger's tenure. The political will and impetus appears to exist to get it done.

The Medicaid expansion captured in working people without coverage to too high of a salary & Republicans know that is a key voting bloc for them

@kellymccullen @sampage4nc @dawnbvaughan @newsobserver @MyPBSNC The new dynamic is that new forecasts show that the House does not need to change the law by raising triggers so that the tax rate won’t be lowered to 3.49%, and then 2.99%. So the question becomes do we want to keep taxes at the 3.99% rate, or keep the economic juggernaut going?

In a few weeks, NC legislators, namely the @ncgop, will face how to backfill a state funding deficit for NC's Medicaid program. There doesn't appear to be enough budgeted to get NC Medicaid through June 30, 2026. @Billy_K_Ball of @CardinalAndPine says "Real People" are watching #ncpol #statelines
