Bundibugyo Ebola outbreak escalating quickly. The previous two outbreaks in 2007 and 2012 killed about 50 together. This one has already killed 80. WHO declaring it an outbreak of international concern. x.com/i/status/20558…

After having consulted the #DRC and #Uganda where the #Ebola disease caused by Bundibugyo virus is known to be currently occurring, I determine that the epidemic constitutes a public health emergency of international concern (PHEIC), as defined in the provisions of IHR. “Cruise passenger isolating in B.C. has tested positive for #hantavirus, top doctor says.” This is why EVERY SINGLE PERSON on this ship must quarantine 8 weeks- and that’s 8 weeks from every NEW CASE on the ship, because ther exposure to this person, could have been much more recent than their exposure to “patient zero.” Then add in everyone they have come into contact with (healthcare, evacuation, staff, airlines, family, society for thise not quarantine out and about). ctvnews.ca/vancouver/arti… No treatment. No cure. ~40% Mortality. Stop the calm mongering and actually act in the interest of global public health. Stop being afraid to be cancelled for telling the truth and saving lives through education and warning. We know public health is not perfect. But it needs to be transparent to regain and build much lost trust from the public and scientific community.

Covid infections can weaken your immune system. That is established science, not speculation. Vaccines did not cause it. Vaccines did not fully stop it. Repeat infections can make it worse. Denying this is not caution or balance, it is science denial. Stop catching Covid. Stop spreading it.

Wow. The Daily Mail is telling the truth about the fact Covid may be making us more susceptible to other illnesses including meningitis. It’s a disgrace that this hasn’t been covered more widely when it’s been clear for years @bbcnews @itvnews @skynews @lbc @Telegraph @Daily_Express @TheSun @cnn @nytimes @Keir_Starmer @UKLabour @KemiBadenoch

Mark Ruffalo just called out CBS for platforming Netanyahu. 'They brought a war criminal on 60 Minutes. He would never have been on outside this regime. We're watching the degradation of journalism through political pressure'

Think about it. One of the strangest public health developments of the past few years: Large parts of the population now experience repeated symptomatic viral illness as culturally normal. People casually describe: - being sick every month - persistent fatigue after “mild” infections - recurrent respiratory infections - reduced exercise tolerance - cognitive changes - prolonged recovery windows All while simultaneously insisting population health is fundamentally unchanged. Historically, populations noticing a measurable decline in baseline resilience would have triggered enormous medical concern. Now it gets reframed as adaptation. That shift in perception may end up being one of the most consequential psychological transitions of the post-2020 era.

Letting people die or be injured and possibly permanently disabled because you refuse to quarantine people that are infected is bad, even if it doesn't lead to a pandemic. And one of the biggest concerns is how they seem to think assuming the best is a valid strategy...
Wokecrates@GhostOfSocrates

Low probability but high consequence events need to be treated far more seriously by public health authorities. Why must a pandemic be "likely" before they do their fucking jobs properly?

Remember how they said that the Meningitis B deaths in Kent were because of a new severe strain? There are more Men B cases and another death, but it's a *third* different strain. It's not the strains. It's the damaged immune systems.
