Two identical, I mean word for word, conversations within 12 hrs: 1. Last night, a 40ish couple in a restaurant in Adel, IA who both voted for Trump told me they’re sick of him, but they don’t trust the Democrats, so they may not vote in Nov. 2. This morning, a 70yr old guy at a coffee shop outside Lincoln, NE who voted for Trump told me he’s sick of him, but doesn’t trust the Democrats, so may not vote in Nov.

I do not want a walkable city. I do not want trains. I do not want busses. I want a car that can take me anywhere I want at any time. I don't want to be dependent on transit schedules. I want to choose who I'm traveling with, rather than going for luck of the draw. I want to be able to control my own climate while traveling. I want to be guaranteed a comfortable seat. I want somewhere to keep my things during a day out instead of having to carry everything with me. I want to buy and take home loads of groceries too big to carry without having to trouble myself with delivery services. I want to go through drive thrus. I want to be halfway home from work and impulsively decide to go to a restaurant on the other side of town and just change direction immediately. I want to drive around a new city to take in more than I could on foot or on a fixed route. I want to do road trips where we make up our journey as we go. I want to explore my own city at will without any particular plan. I want to visit small towns out of reach of even the most expansive proposed public transit systems. Essentially, I want freedom.

When we look back on why Trump won this election, it won't be because he was a better choice. Kamala was more than qualified. She was one of the most qualified persons to run for office in a very long time. She offered Americans $25,000 towards their first home. She offered $50,000 to small businesses. She offered intelligence and critical thinking. Yet, Amerca decided to go with dimwitted criminal with 34 felony counts, a convicted sexual abuser, a fail businessman, accused of being a pedophile who tried to overthrow the government. As we look at the absolute chaos trump has caused in one year, the is was it worth it? Who's benefiting from Trump being the president? Why didn't Kamala win?

US troops are not in Germany to protect Germany. They’re there because the US needs bases to conduct operations beyond the North American continent. If Trump withdraws them, he will harm the United States, not Germany. It’s absurd how many Americans fail to grasp this.

My colleague and I left $20 on a $309 bill at a Michelin star restaurant last night, and the waitress looked at us like we’d just insulted her grandmother.We split it—$10 from me, $10 from her. The service was fine, nothing exceptional but nothing wrong either. Just standard polite service at a place where the cheapest appetizer was $24. When she picked up the check folder, she opened it right there at the table, saw the two tens, and her face actually dropped. She snapped it shut, forced a smile, and walked away without saying goodbye.We were barely out the door when I heard her telling the hostess something that ended with “…can’t believe it.”I know Michelin spots usually expect 20%, but we’re talking $60+ on food that was good but not life-changing. Am I wrong for thinking the tip should match the service, not just the prestige of the address? Or was I supposed to empty my wallet just because they got a fancy plaque from some committee?

My credit score dropped when I paid off my car and student loans. Credit agencies said I should get more loans to increase my credit score. The system punishes you for not owing them money. They want you to be in debt. Credit scoring is a scam.
