Week 2 of virtual school @AISQ8 and we are diving deep how to continue nurturing writers using @TCRWP units online. The dedication our teachers have shown in using writers workshop these past 2 years is proving invaluable in transferring this learning to the digital world.

Virtual meeting today with K-12 Instructional Coaches and Librarians @AISQ8. Strong focus on how we can best support our teachers and leaders moving forward in virtual learning. Coaches and Librarians of twitter how have you supported teachers at your school in virtual learning?

Working with teams both virtually and in person to help today @AISQ8 to help prep for #virtuallearning. I am amazed at how flexible, open-minded and student focused everyone is. Going above and beyond to make sure high quality learning is happening for all our students!

This week, a student I taught 4 years ago ran up to me and said "Do you remember BFG? I'm reading it myself now!". I read BFG to her grade 1 class and she was so proud that she could read it now. Never underestimate the power of a read aloud (and Roald Dahl).

Day 6 of #12DaysTwitter #AISQ8 and it's about promoting thinking. As a coach, Michael Stanier's "AWE" question-And What Else? - really pushes reflection and deepens thinking in a coaching conversation. Simple but powerful!

Day 5 of #12DaysofTwitter #AISQ8 & my fave example of student agency happens here every day with @TCRWP Writers Workshop. I've seen reluctant writers write fantastic stories & reading refusers become super researchers. All through inquiry and giving Ss voice, choice & ownership
