Our Geodes story “Anansi and The Pot of Beans” presented the perfect opportunity to tie in some science today by planting beans. We decided to also tie in some math by collecting data on our hypothesis on which one we think will grow best! #sumnerachieves

Studies show learning is more effective when using the different senses. So, we use the oldie but goodie..whisper phones! Students LOVE listening to themselves read our Geodes stories

The beginning of our day is for morning meeting. It allows us to build community, learn social-emotional skills,and start our day off in a positive tone. This is definitely one of my favorite parts of our day! #sumnerachieves

There is something so powerful about watching your students take ownership of their learning! Student led> Teacher led #sumnerachieves

We don’t like to use “assessment” or “test” language in our classroom. Instead, we call them celebrations. Before each celebration, we like to sing and dance to Celebrate @GoNoodle. Students chant how we are ready to celebrate our knowledge! #sumnerachieves
