Very pleased to see Bess Wohl's terrific LIBERATION win a #Pulitzer for Drama this year. MEET THE CARTOZIANS is a very worthy finalist. (As for BOWL EP, maybe it reads better on the page than it played onstage. I found the playwright's PRACTICE more interesting.)

@SchmanthonyP I had never heard of the game before. From what I can tell, they’re not at all related. (The best way I can describe the stage show is, it’s an interactive performance-art piece about how overworked much of modern society is these days.)

Just saw on @kenjfuj’s IG story that he saw a play called “BURNOUT PARADISE”, and…are they allowed to use that title? Does it have any relation to the very famous video game that is less than twenty years old?? lol

To my mind, he never missed in a distinguished career in which he used nonfiction (mostly) to shine illuminating lights—sometimes affectionate, sometimes critical, always curious—on the American and human experience. RIP to one of the greats.

Until yesterday, I had considered Wiseman America's finest living filmmaker. Now he's gone. WELFARE...CENTRAL PARK...BELFAST, MAINE... Those are 3 of my faves of his off the top of my head, but I could easily mention 3 others in his filmography that I'd consider equally great.

So…I wrote a home-video booklet essay! It’s for Film Movement Classics’s new 4K UHD/Blu-ray release of the 1955 British WWII film THE DAM BUSTERS. At the very least, it’s worth seeing for its action climax, which very closely inspired the Death Star assault in STAR WARS.
