“coins die when people stop talking about them.”
$MON is one of the hottest on the radar rn, at least on CT. and yeah, that's a good sign but tbf what really matters is how you use this heat to convert this raw metal into something beautiful.
something useful? something durable? something that outlives the noise?
and imo, that’s where the real work begins.
…
>> why CT alone will never be enough
tbf like I’ve always said, if CT is the main demographic you’re trying to impress in 2025, you’re already handicapped. by a lot. this is a very much mature forest, there’s almost zero bushmeats you as a new hunter can get.
also, CT is simply one of the most jaded, most short-termist, most agenda-driven arena in crypto.
which is as a result of what every participant has been subjected to in this environment. you simply cannot onboard the world from a room designed for PVP.
CT is like a loudspeaker, not really a foundation atp. and deff not if you wanna be the settlement layer for everything itw.
if Monad only speaks to CT, it’ll only be trapped in the exact place it’s trying to transcend.
it needs to go outside this forest, find strong alignment in a bigger forest, and naturally, trust CT to come around.
..
>> what Monad actually needs: a bridge to the real world
the next phase isn’t marketing harder on CT imo, it’s about building a bridge outside of it.
Monad needs a foundation of people who:
> see the vision
> have felt the pain of the real world
> understand the downsides of existing systems in the real world
> and want to build solutions to their pain, powered by Monad
i think crypto is oversaturated w ideas made for "crypto twitter".
gambling, DExes, forks, perps, more gambling - we’ve kinda iterated the same five ideas a hundred times just w different packaging (and execution as a differential). and nothing really sticky. it’s kinda hard to scale outside our bubble this way.
for a general purpose blockchain in 2025, you gotta be different imo.
cos the future of crypto isn’t in CT loops. it’s in the people who don’t care about CT at all.
Monad needs its own version of Y Combinator imo. atleast, the YC in its original ethos.
there’s a lot of hungry “zoomers” out there who wanna build cool stuff, just need a bit of guidance and lil resources in a healthy environment and it’s voila.
• empower weird kids w big ideas
• turn outsiders into founders
• give them a small push
• watch the compounding happen
there are zoomers out there. even teenagers. building apps, tools, etc that solve real problems.
i watched a video recently, of a 14 year old who built a really cool app as an entry to YC, and what stood out for me isnt just that he built this cool stuff, its that with a 1 min video he can sell the idea behind his app and instantly create organic distribution for his idea. these are the kinda resourceful people out there.
they’re hungry.
they’re fearless.
and they know how to communicate ideas in ways the world understands and find attractive.
these are the people Monad needs to attract imo.
these guys know how to build stuff that are attractive to the avg person and know how to sell so well - if you get people like of this archetype onboard, they'd be the biggest funnels attract net new sticky people and liquidity to Monad.
..
>> why this matters
crypto doesn’t grow when the same liquidity circulates in smaller and smaller loops.
crypto grows when:
• net new users arrive
• net new builders join
• net new capital enters
• net new ideas emerge
and historically, every major inflection came from outside crypto’s core:
look at 2013 - retail
look at 2017 - ICOs
look at 2020 - DeFi summer
look at 2021 - NFTs onboarding artists, kids, creators etc
it’s sort of peaked out since 2021 tho i think, except the meme-rush we had in recent history which attracted a bit of retail interest. but cos majority of the interest was mercenary, i don’t think it fits the point wanna make here.
but yeah, the point is - every single time, it was always about attracting people outside our bubble. our bubble has grown even bigger now tho, so it takes even more to scale now.
and you scale by expanding beyond the moat, not echoing inside it.
(study the Lindy effect)
Monad must anchor itself in real world use, real world culture, real world builders, real world youth cos thats how it can create a moat for itself.
..
>> Monad must be the "zoomer chain"
this is the world now.
zoomers run ideas.
zoomers run memes.
zoomers run attention.
zoomers run distribution.
zoomers run the internet.
if you’re thinking in idk… 5, 10–30 year arcs, getting this generation behind you early isn’t optional it’s existential.
Monad is the next-gen chain. thus, it must become the place where the next-gen minds want to think, build and create.
if you have these minds as your foundation, you will end up attracting everyone else regardless of generational gap and all that marginalized ideals we're used to. zoomers and alphas dgaf about that. filling the soul of your chain at its foundation w them = making your chain pure and attractive to anyone.
…
>>> the soul of the chain lies in what you attract
most chains esp general purpose ones today chase the same users, same liquidity, same narratives. and imo, that’s why they stagnate. it’s kinda like 10000000 hunters fighting for the same few bushmeats lmfao.
“the earliest hunter to the forest gets the most bushmeat”
Ethereum’s moat isn’t that it has the best technology, it’s that it was the first to attract a sustained network effects outside of Bitcoin, same with Solana with Ethereum.
being early to the forest, is a first edge but how well you hunt matters most. Ethereum, Solana etc have all hunted well. and now, I don’t really think there’s much worthwhile bushmeats left in this forest tho.
these guys already dominate the forest which is CT cos they attracted net new people. now i think it’s up to Monad to also dominate a bigger forest (beyond CT), and bridge the gap between that bigger forest, and CT.
Monad has a chance to be different here. to become the bridge between “crypto” and “the world.”
to onboard net-new participants (this why i liked the ICO, but that’s only step one).
to empower insanely good builders who never touched crypto before (this is most important from here).
to become the default playground for young minds (helps Monad become a hive mind amongs the brightest creatives).
to simply tap into the deepest reservoir of future potential.
Monad needs to be the chain that gives young people permission to dream.
be the chain that gives outsiders a home. be the chain where new liquidity enters because new value is created.
that’s how you build something that lasts.
and i think and assume this is exactly how the Monad Foundation are thinking about this too.
and I’m looking forward to seeing how they execute on this over the next year / two.
cos this is the “soul” the Monad Blockchain needs imo.
…
>>> on tokenomics (and why critique w/o alternatives is empty)
i don’t think $MON tokenomics is “perfect.”
but tbf, unless you can propose a well thought out tokenomics model that is:
> viable in the short term
> viable in the long term
> aligns incentives across all participants
> supports a general-purpose L1 chain and sustains itself across its entire lifecycle
then you’re not really critiquing, you’re just complaining for engagement. and i don't take you seriously.
although there’s some part of the “experiment” i don’t agree w (e.g giving CT retards free money and letting em dunk on some of your community members) - that's a bit of shortcoming from a concentration of distribution POV, and probably the one blemish here imo.
...
>>> conviction
if you’re aligned w Monad, welcome to the real world buddy.
your conviction will be tested daily. cos narratives will swing. sentiments will remain distorted. noise will rise to unfathomable levels. price will fluctuate.
and the only thing that would keep you stable is in:
• understanding what you believe
• understanding why you believe
• understanding what role you play
• and aligning your actions w your worldview
reject negativity. reject cynicism. reject jadedness.
spread the mission in the most elegant and passionate way you can.
cos you’re a stakeholder now, act like one.
…
“monad’s destiny for me isn’t to win CT, it’s to win the world.”
zoom out and lock in.
- as a stakeholder
