THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN UK 🇬🇧 AND USA 🇺🇸 1. Maternity leave🤰 🇬🇧 UK: You get 6 months of full pay, 3 months of SMP (like £400 per month), and the 3rd month no pay. Total of 1 year leave. 🇺🇸 USA: You get 6 to 12 weeks of paid maternity leave, including your paid time off. Some states like Washington, Delaware, and New York offer paid family leave. You could get 4-6 months paid depending on the state. 2. Annual Leave UK🇬🇧: Depending on your band, you would normally get at least 35 days, including holidays (that is 5 weeks), for annual leave within a year if you work for the NHS. USA 🇺🇸: Depending on whether you work for a private or government entity, you mostly get at least 6 weeks of paid time off. This could be less or more. 3. Sick leave 🤢 🤢 UK🇬🇧: You are entitled to 28 weeks of sick pay for a single episode of sickness 😳. If you resume work and fall sick again, you are entitled to a new count of the 28 weeks! PAY 💰 💰 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 UK 🇬🇧: Depending on your band level in the NHS, you could earn £31,000 to £37,000 per annum for a band 5. Those who work in care homes could earn slightly higher than this. Per month after tax, you could get between £2000-£2300. USA 🇺🇸: This also depends on the state you work in and your years of experience as a Nurse. A new Nurse in a low-paying state could earn $30-35 per hour. A Nurse with over 10 years of experience could earn $40-55 on average. States like Washington state, California, etc., could pay new nurses up to $70-90, while more experienced nurses get more! Per paycheck, which is every 2 weeks, take-home after tax could range from $2000-5000, depending on the hourly rate.
