Excited to share my first public interview in over 20 years in the domain industry! 🙏 Huge thanks to Bob Hawks (@AGreatDomain) for the detailed article about my journey and the story behind dotDB. If you're curious, feel free to read and share! namepros.com/blog/interview…

Got my first booking just 10 days after launching the site, and it gets even better. 4 orders came in at once, likely from the same traveler booking related trips. The total order value reached $1,698 USD, which should generate $100+ in commission. This shows how the long tail pays off on a niche travel website. 👉 LongTail.com

Spent about 2 hours building a small U.S. community .com, Destrehan.com, a place I may never visit in my lifetime. But while developing the site, I ended up learning about slavery, plantations, and the history of Louisiana, which was kind of interesting.

Thanks for sharing! I actually didn’t know there’s a city called Mobile in Alabama 😄 That makes me think searches like “mobile vet” or “mobile vets” might include some traffic from that location as well. But maybe Google doesn’t treat that intent very strictly anyway. People there probably search more specifically like “mobile vet mobile al” or “mobile vets mobile al” if they’re looking for local services haha

@KenLin1985 what a neat name, Ken! 👏 very interesting geo search volume on this one (note, there's a city called "Mobile" in Alabama, so that may skew numbers for that phrase & location)

Acquired MobileVets․com using the funds from my recent sale of SoloFemaleTravel․com. Over the past few years, I’ve been following a simple strategy. Sell a domain, then quickly reinvest into something better and go all in again. Each cycle feels like leveling up, and this time I’m especially excited. MobileVets․com is not just for resale. I actually want to build it. I’ve long been inspired by Peter Askew (@searchbound) and what he did with DudeRanch․com. If you haven’t read it, this story is worth your time deepsouthventures.com/dude-that-buil… I’ve always wanted to build a directory-style business like that, and this domain finally feels like the right fit. The pet industry is massive and still growing fast. Mobile vets are becoming more common, especially for older pets, sick animals, or those that get stressed during travel. One of the most meaningful services is at-home end-of-life care, where families can say goodbye in a familiar and peaceful place. This feels like an emerging market. There are around 10,000 vets or clinics in the U.S. offering mobile services. If I can get just 1% of them, about 100 listings, paying $30 per month, that’s a $36K ARR business. At 10%, it becomes $360K. Not easy, but not impossible. I’m planning to start with a directory model and see where it goes. Have you ever used a mobile vet, or are you in the veterinary space? Would love to hear your thoughts! #DomainDrivenDevelopment

@KenLin1985 Great travel category! Other than sales, what do you find makes Dynadot Marketplace a better marketplace? More international buyers? Something else?

I can finally share this. I sold SoloFemaleTravel.com for $2,000. Travel has always been one of my favorite niches. The buyer is an entrepreneur from Spain, and I truly hope this domain helps kickstart a successful new travel venture. This is also my second sale through Dynadot Marketplace. I really like how the domain is instantly transferred to the buyer after the sale, and the extra 2% bonus when you take the payout as Dynadot credits is a nice touch. Highly recommend using Dynadot to sell your domains!

Interesting one today 😄 Someone used a Dynadot appraisal as a reference and came in with a $2,000 offer on one of my domains. I checked a bit, turns out he’s not even from the domain industry. Just a real end user trying to justify the price. Originally I had the domain pointed to an Afternic landing page, but since he clearly referenced Dynadot, I switched it to a Dynadot user listing for checkout. Deal is done and payment just completed today. Once the funds land, I’ll reveal the domain 👀 #Dynadot

@Varun_Goyal I highly rely on dotDB. If a .com domain has five or more TLDs taken, you can normally sell it for $2K–$3K.

@KenLin1985 It was a great domain. Congratulations. Btw if you don't mind, can you advise me to do the right pricing on my travel domain so I can sell it for right price?

@SDhulkifl To earn commissions from affiliate programs. This is called Domain-Driven Development. Unlike the usual approach of coming up with an idea first and then registering a domain, this method starts with acquiring a domain and then building around it.

Acquired an animal-name .com: GuineaFowl․com. I know it’s not as iconic as chicken, duck, ostrich, or even quail, but it’s still fairly recognizable. I’ve actually seen them raised on a local farm before. Interestingly, before buying this domain, I didn’t even know this bird was called a “guinea fowl”. Have you ever seen or even eaten this type of bird? 😁
