@NickHoopes_ I graduated PT school and my classmate who graduated with me- worked for 3 years as a PT and the went to teach HS science. He is retired now. Had summers off. 6.5 hour work day and no charting.

Had a former student call me the other day He said, “So, I had this idea…and I wanted an opinion I could trust on it…” “…What if I took a job as a Phys Ed teacher and then worked as a PT prn…” My response: “If you give it 3yrs, you’re total package will probably > mine”

@thedancept Glad you’re prioritizing yourself. What did you do? The three main consequences of burnout are leaving the job, providing poor quality of care and poor wellbeing (physical and mental health).

@BackinStepPT Feeling burnt out at work led me to make a tough decision, but it was the best thing I could have done for myself. Sometimes you have to prioritize your mental health and well-being over everything else. #Burnout #SelfCare #PrioritizeYourself
