I’m taking a step back from flight school and flying for a season. Not because the dream changed, NO (nimejiita mkutano kidogo) Wells are dry, and even renewing my PPL now comes down to funding. Pausing to Regroup, Refocus. Meanwhile, I’ll be leaning fully into storytelling and media production, telling stories on the ground while I find my way back to the skies and somewhere new. Aircraft Accident Investigation Department caught up in forgery drama.

ARREST OF A FORGERY SUSPECT Detectives based at the Serious Crime Unit have arrested a suspect in connection to forgery of a letter from the State Department of Transport. Richard Kirui Bongei, the Principal Engineer at the Ministry of Housing, was apprehended in Athi River. His arrest follows the conclusion of a comprehensive investigation into a complaint of forgery lodged by the State Department of Transport in relation to a "Renewal of Local Agreement Terms" letter dated May 6, 2024 and purportedly signed by a senior government official. The forged document, which sought to award Capt. Martyne Luther Lunani, a three-year extension as the Director of Aircraft Accident Investigation at the Ministry of Roads and Transport, was flagged by the State Department of Transport and forwarded to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for forensic analysis. Document forensic examination experts established that the letter was indeed a forged document and confiscated it as evidence. Forensic trails subsequently linked the document to Richard Bongei, leading to his arrest. He has since been processed and is scheduled for arraignment today. Meanwhile, detectives are pursuing Capt. Lunani, who is still at large to answer to the charges of forgery of an official document.

The Fourth Freedom of the Air indicates an aircraft can be granted the right to land in a foreign country for technical purposes, e.g. refueling, without picking up or dropping off passengers/cargo. Kenyan authorities were 100% aware of the aircraft and its passengers.

It’s encouraging to hear that Boeing will be investing in Ethiopian Airlines’ new airport. However, it is crucial to raise awareness about the plight of farmers being displaced from the site. Boeing and the U.S. government must ensure that these farmers are fairly compensated and provided with guarantees for their long-term livelihoods

American Airlines pilots who were caught celebrating the assassination of Charlie Kirk have been immediately grounded and removed from service by @AmericanAir. This behavior is disgusting and they should be fired. Any company responsible for the safety of the traveling public cannot tolerate that behavior. We heal as a country when we send the message that glorifying political violence is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!
