In Meru County, you'll have MCAs elected on PNU, NoPEU, UDA, independent, Jubilee & you'll also have MPs on Jubilee, UDA & Independent. You'll also have a governor who's an Independent candidate & Senator who's a UDA politicians. Zoning can't work in areas where voters actually use their brains to vote & where politicians know & understand that voters always have power on who they want to be their leaders. Luos should grow up.

I confirm that Nderitu Gachagua's will is one of the finest written in Kenya. I have use it as a template to write more than 10 wills, none of which has been successfully challenged in Court. All Law Teachers should find use in it. @rigathi

If 500M could be recovered from those guys, how much do you think Ruto has? Or Kindiki? Or Murkomen?

You see the 11 billion tranches being lost to corruption & think how that money can build like 2k kms of roads linking the whole Northern Kenya, and be left with money for education, health, water & veterinary. 1. Isiolo - Wamba - Maralal - Baragoi - North Horr - Marsabit. 2. Maralal - Loruk - Kapedo - Lokori - Lokichar - Kibish via Lodwar. 3. Loruk - Barpello - Marich Pass. 4. Lodwar - Lokiriama towards Moroto.

This is Kenana, a sprawling industrial oasis in Sudan's White Nile State. Established in the mid-1970s as a "Green Gold" dream, it is today one of the largest integrated sugar plantations and refineries on the planet. It is a feat of engineering where Sudanese soil, Gulf capital, and international expertise converged to transform an arid landscape into a self-sustaining powerhouse. At its heart, the complex operates on a circular philosophy. Massive fields of sugarcane are fed by one of the world's largest pump stations, drawing water from the White Nile. Once harvested, the cane is processed into over 400,000 tonnes of white sugar annually. However, nothing goes to waste. The fibrous leftovers, known as bagasse, are burned to generate upwards of 100 MW of electricity. Enough to power the entire complex and the surrounding township. The sticky molasses is repurposed, distilled into roughly 60 million litres of ethanol or converted into high-quality animal feed for the region’s livestock. Why is this important? The Kenana model is more than a Sudanese success story. It could be a blueprint for what is currently unfolding in Bura, Kenya. For decades, the Bura Irrigation Scheme struggled with the high costs of diesel-powered pumps and a lack of reliable water. However, as of early 2026, the completion of the Bura Gravity Canal has changed the game. By shifting from expensive pumps to a gravity-fed system, Bura could have finally gotten what it needed to unlock its potential. The scheme has now moved beyond subsistence crops and is now hosting large-scale sugarcane trials across 700 acres, with plans to expand to 50,000 acres(Kenana is 100,000 acres). This transition is critical for Kenya’s modern agricultural shift, aiming to reduce the heavy reliance on imported sugar that has drained the country's foreign reserves for years. Worthy of note is that even amidst the conflict that has ravaged much of Sudan's industrial base, Kenana remains a stable anchor, supporting a community of nearly 100,000 people. Similarly, the revival of Bura could represent a lifeline for Tana River County, which has experienced intermittent conflicts. It could transform this region once defined by disappointing colonial-era settlement projects into a hub for private-public partnerships. Like Kenana, Bura could represent departure from a past of agricultural failures and too become a place where high-tech irrigation meets traditional land, balancing industrial progress with the essential needs of the local people. Ultimately, these projects stand as a testament to the enduring agricultural potential of East Africa's river basins, proving that with the right infrastructure, these lands can feed and power the future.

I think of Kiambaa and ask how Gachagua is more tribal than Ruto. Burning women and kids in a Church because of their tribe and political affiliation to me is Al Shabab level of atrocity. It had never happened in our country and may it never happen again.

Seeing the attempted 41 v. 1 gimmick backfiring is such a hilarious sight. Labda kama Katumani hangeua watoto, roho hazingekuwa ngumu hivi. As far as I remember Kenyans can take anything, but those moments changed everything.

The rise of PPPs under Ruto. Where one P remains an unknown known. One day maybe there'll be an inscription written "... Here resides the convict who auctioned a nation..." at the door of a certain jail cell.

Back in 2019 hapo, we had an issue with Majengo, Nairobi. Nick (may he rest in peace) did a piece for BBC which we assisted, our interest was radicalization but things turned dark when we found out it was much worse 💀💀

If you told him to eat pork, he would slap you... The number of kids being molested in these madrassa is alarming, but they never talk about them. This animal molested 12 kids, from as young as 6 years old in the name of teaching them religion.
