if I don't understand a piece of code, I am not going to commit it. it's as simple as that. blind agentic use of AI for coding is either for quick prototyping or people who are bad at problem solving or who can't write good code themselves.

It's crazy how if you tell people these days that you don't blindly use AI to code stuff for production in a big tech company, they act so surprised.

my brother has girl issues and has been running everything through chatgpt. turns out she has too. essentially just chatgpt in a relationship with chatgpt

and no I hate having them write code for me, unless it's unit tests, then I'm mostly fine with it.

honestly the best use case I've found for these agentic ai tools is to search through massive codebases to figure how a specific thing is being used.
