@hirahira22222 Its a class thing.Back in the day in England, the rich/powerful used a lot of french, so you will find our words for the meat sound closer to french (Pork=Porc, Beef=boeuf etc) Since chickens were eaten i think by everyone but mostly the poorer people, they just stayed chicken
