Researchers from @SoGLeeds and @AberUni will climb beyond Mount Everest's base camp to test if snow high up on the mountain is melting. This follows initial findings which showed that the temperature of ice at its foot is warmer than expected given the local air temperature🏔️

Just to be absolutely clear, this was nothing whatsoever to do with #Cloudseeding, #GeoEngineering, or any other conspiracy claptrap that is doing the rounds. The MCS (mesoscale convective system) that generated the massive thunderstorms was larger than the UK!!! HT @simon_sat
