Space data centers sound insane until you think about it for 5 seconds. Where do you put an AI data center when the power grid is maxed out, permits take 3 years, and you need millions of gallons of water just to keep it cool? Not on Earth apparently. In orbit you get unlimited solar power. No cooling problem. No land fights. No neighbors. AI needs somewhere to live. This might be it. Who's building the infrastructure: $LUNR — Intuitive Machines. Already delivering cargo to the Moon for NASA. First one actually doing it, not just talking about it. $RDW — Redwire. Makes the solar arrays and hardware that keep things powered once they're up there. $ASTS — AST SpaceMobile. Building the broadband network from space direct to your phone. The whole thesis needs connectivity. $RKLB — Rocket Lab. Cheaper, more frequent launches than anyone else not named SpaceX. You need the trucks before you need the warehouse. Obviously this doesn't work if rockets don't get cheaper or the tech takes another decade. But if you think AI infrastructure demand is real, the space trade is worth watching.

SpaceX just filed. Here is what new investors always get wrong about IPOs. Everyone asks "should I buy it." That is the wrong question. Ask this instead: what is already priced in? SpaceX is targeting a $1.75 trillion valuation. Revenue was $4.69 billion in Q1 2026, up 15% year over year. Losses hit $4.9 billion in 2025. The hype is real. So is the burn. Three things to actually look at before touching an IPO: 1. Revenue growth rate, not revenue size. Is it accelerating or slowing? 2. Path to profitability. "We will be profitable eventually" is not a plan. Check when and how. 3. Lock-up expiration. Insiders cannot sell at IPO. When they can, 90 to 180 days later, the stock often drops. The retail investor mistake is buying on launch day because of the name. The smarter move is watching the first earnings call. Or getting exposure before launch day ever happens.

OpenAI just announced its filing for an IPO. Could debut as early as September. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are running it. The target valuation is over $1 trillion. This is one of the biggest IPO moments in a decade and most retail traders will be late to it. Here is what you actually need to know before the hype machine kicks in. The bull case is straightforward. Revenue went from $6 billion in 2024 to $20 billion by end of 2025. ChatGPT has hundreds of millions of users. Enterprise is growing fast. If AI infrastructure spend keeps compounding, OpenAI sits at the center of it. The bear case is real too. OpenAI is not profitable and does not expect to be until 2030. Internal projections show $14 billion in losses this year alone. At a $1 trillion valuation, you are paying an enormous premium for a company burning cash at scale. The number that matters at IPO: revenue growth rate. If it is still doubling year over year, the valuation might hold. If growth slows, that $1T number gets questioned fast. This view weakens if the Elon Musk lawsuit fallout creates structural uncertainty or if a competitor closes the gap before the listing. It strengthens if the S-1 shows accelerating enterprise revenue.

Prediction markets make you pick a threshold and a deadline. Get either one wrong and you lose. With Freeport you get synthetic exposure to OpenAI, Anthropic, and SpaceX.
