Atlético Madrid’s far right supporters gave Hitler salutes throughout the day, sang nazi chants and insulted Aitor Zabaleta, the Sociedad supporter they stabbed to death years ago. Spanish police attacked Basque supporters before the match. In response, Sociedad supporters displayed a tifo in memory of Zabaleta, raised the Basque Country flag and booed the Spanish anthem. In addition, Palestine, Basque Country, Antifa and USSR flags were seen in the Sociedad stands.
