@keyeun_data 아 저는 이 학회를 에반스턴에서 시작했을 때부터 쭉 갔던 사람이라 뭔가 좀 애정이 있는 학회입니다 ㅎㅎ 내년에 버몬트 벌링턴에서 하는데, 하시는 연구 몇 개 내셔서 한 번 가시죠! 오히려 CS 학회들보다 더 재미있어 하실 수도..? ㅎㅎ

스웨덴의 노르쇠핑에서 열린 국제계산사회과학학회(IC2S2)를 마치고 이제 한국으로 돌아가려는 길인데, 뭔가 제법 만족스러운 느낌이 들어서, 내가 (교수로서) 학회에 와서 만족을 느끼는 경험들을 학생이었을 때와 비교해보기로 했다. 1. 학생으로서 (혹은 내 지도 학생이) 만족을 주는 경험들 - 아, 다들 열심히 하는구나... 그리고 신선하고 재미있는 연구를 하는 사람들도 많구나! - 그럼에도, 내 주제나 연구도 탑스쿨 애들 연구랑 비교해도 나름 괜찮구나. 신기하다. 다른 사람들이 내연구를 상당히 재미있게 봐주는구나! - 와, 저 교수들은 논문에서만 맨날 이름보던 사람인데... 실제 존재하는 사람이었구나... 막상 만나서 말해보니, 일반적인 사람이랑 크게 차이가 없구나... - 만나서 저녁먹으며 이야기해보니, 다른나라 다른학교 대학원생들도 다 비슷한 고민들을 하는구나. - 나 뭔가 은근 국제적인 연구자가 되가고 있을수도..?! ㅎㅎ 2. 주니어 (지도)교수로서 만족을 주는 경험들 - 문득 문득 걸어가다가 경험하게 되는, 오, 너 왔었구나! 오랜만이다! 너 어디에서 뭐하고 살아! 거긴 어때? 하며 만나는, 전세계에 퍼져서 교수나 연구원 생할 중인 옛 동료들 지인들 - 아, 내가 아직 그래도 감이 안떨어졌구나. 학생들한테 괜찮은 주제라고 줬던 것들이 아직은 계속 괜찮은 주제들이구나. - 방법론적으로, 내가 고민하던 것들은 다른사람들도 못풀고 있구나. - (지도학생의 발표를 보며) 그래도 열심히 시킨 보람이 있구나. 열심히 따라오더니 여기서 그래도 꽤 그럴싸하게 발표를 하는구나. - 해외 학교 교수 친구들과 그 그룹 연구들 보면서, '어디 내 학생들 방문연구, 유학 보내기, 그리고 내가 방문하기에 괜찮은 곳 없나' 찾아보기
