Interestingly most protocols don’t get drained for their entire TVL, and the larger the protocol, the lower the ratio of assets that get taken in a hack! This has significant implications for risk transfer like insurance as it implies that insuring huge % of lending protocols against crime risk is not a good use of capital.

What's going on with my github account? What happened in the middle of March? I am now in a position, for the first time in my career where there is no advantage to me coding. The way we used to work was doing prototypes instead of PRDs. Having such a strong developer team, and a founder/coder it was quickest to agree on code. Given that I had all the context, and a python dev with 15 years experience in coding, I would code day and night often doing all nighters pushing POCs to ensure @KeyringNetwork kept tacking towards the the ever elusive product market fit with pace. This has totally changed with the internal launch of "keyring-context". AI made all our developers all equally good at Python. Keyring context made equally informed. The timing couldn't be better. As we hurtle towards a large product launch / gtm there has been a huge flood of legal, bd and partner coordination requirements. I am so glad we prioritised such high quality developers early on and yolo'd into LLM context graphs. Keyring context seems to be a genuinely cutting edge product and we're extending it to our close partners to coordinate with us. Developers. Developers. Developers. Developers. Developers. We're firm believers that markets of large size are done for a reason. Therefore, we don't agree that lenders are being scammed (and require exceptional rates) because if they were, they wouldn't be LPing this trade. We feel like some of the discussions recently have been like those that look at smokers and drinkers and saying they are objectively ruining their bodies. In the same vein people criticise the "smokers and drinkers" of DeFi lending, labelling them as "degens" but the "degens" are actually getting something in return. This article looks at what they get in return and there is a way that you can price the implied optionality if you want to go that far as well. The thing which was unexpected for us was that fixed rates seems to be "prime brokerage". If not mistaken, we have all been kind of thinking about DeFi lending as PB-like and we think that making a decentralised PB is actually an insanely good trade.
