The only true answer is the Islanders. Immediate rivalry with the Prince Edward Island Islanders.

@AndrewKnollNHL Hasn't been easy to be a Bears fan or a White Sox fan either.
English

Don't sweat it, Connor, many of these people have wasted considerably more money on seeing other really lousy sporting events. Bulls fans should be organizing a class-action lawsuit the way they've been shooting the ball.
Sportsnet@Sportsnet
Connor Bedard felt bad for Blackhawks fans after losing to their rivals at Wrigley Field 😬

@FriedgeHNIC 15 entire seasons with one team. how the hell do ya tell this guy you’re moving him?

English

It’s Fowler and a fourth to STL for a second-round pick and a minor-league prospect.
Ducks retain 38.5 per cent of contract

Hearing Anaheim and St. Louis working on a Cam Fowler trade.

@swardley Fair enough, you have a better handle on it than I do and your motivations. I appreciate the back and forth!

@kforbesy I don't know. It wouldn't surprise me if X is deliberately quieting voices that disagree with Musk, the free speech crowd are generally the largest bunch of snowflakes when it comes to disagreement. But it makes little difference to me, it's not why I use X.
English

X : Why don't you post on bluesky more?
Me : Is there a reason?
X : More interesting, thoughtful and friendly crowd. As you say X is the pub lounge of news.
Me : As in X is where you'll find two somewhat slozzled individuals passionately explaining global economics while struggling to count their change?

@swardley Was thinking less the tone or quality of the engagement and more just the quantity. The algorithm seems to be diminishing how many followers see posts, coupled with the mass migration away (either to other platforms or just off social media).
English

@kforbesy However, on engagement, then yes it is noticeable that the discussions have become less agreeable at points and we are also reaching peak twaddle with some of the arguments presented ... but I don't see that as bad thing but a positive. It forces me to think constantly.
English

@swardley Hard to turn your back on the 40k follower number and face rebuilding in a different arena? I do wonder how your audience engagement has changed over the past 2 years.
English

@BenWrightATL Man, hockey is so tough because it's so partisan. Sens fans wouldn't be able to say Sundin, Leafs fans wouldn't agree on Alfredsson or Koivu, there's not one that rises above or equal to the Canadian-born legends.
English

@richarddeitsch Have you moved over to Bluesky? The sports community is growing there and I've read anecdotes from others I follow that day they're getting comparable traction with smaller follower count.
English

I've said this before:
Without sports, I'd be long gone from here.
It's been an incredible platform for people to view/hear my work — and it's unquestionably helped me make good money in two countries. The addiction — and it absolutely is addiction —was profitable.
But every day feels more and more like WCW in 2001, at least from my perspective. If it's working for you, cool. I hope it continues. But I'm seeing so much less traction on stories/pods.

@Kyle_Cush One thing I've been wondering is how waivers and camp cuts work prior to the start of the season. Like if I'm a team and pluck a guy off waivers and then decide he's not a fit for my lineup, does he go back on waivers? Does he go back to 1st team?
English

Since I’ve already gotten 3 replies about this, an intro to what two-way means and some other waivers details:
- Two-way only means a player makes different salaries in the NHL and minors. It has no impact on waivers status
- Waivers eligibility is determined by a player’s age when they sign their first NHL contract and NHL games played
- Steeves’ waivers age is 22. That means he doesn’t need waivers for 3 seasons. He just finished his 3rd season, so he needs waivers to be sent down starting this fall. His two-way salary has no impact on this
- Once a player clears waivers, they don’t need waivers again until they’ve played 10 NHL games or have been on an NHL roster for 30 total days
Joey@joeythekid6239
@Kyle_Cush How come he requires waivers if it’s a two-way deal? Also does he require them for every call-up and send-down or is it just for the first one of the year?
English

@jackbarlow_STS Still stuns me that they made the Ullmark deal without having Sway in hand. Either they misjudged this relationship from the beginning (which is on them) or Sway Camp dramatically changed tune after the deal (which... alright, but being caught by surprise there is still on them)
