Extremely impressive yet highly concerning dynamics at play in the Middle East this week. An area of low pressure deepening over Iraq is accompanied by very strong wind shear and massive instability across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, and Oman. Thunderstorms forming in this environment have the potential to be dangerous and destructive with intense precipitation leading to flooding, large to very large hail, severe winds, and even tornadoes.

@3nnadi Very good points! The Iranian regime acts like they're the only ones helping Falasteen when multiple GCC states had national campaigns to send money for them, Saudi alone was the biggest contributor in aid to Falasteen. Qatar also provides medical care and refuge for them.

Saudi and the GCC states put their resources to work in giving their citizens quality education, career opportunities, as well as a high standard of living and a dignified environment to build families in. In the meantime, they have not at all neglected their military capabilities and the evidence for that being that even Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE - small states by every definition, have been able to withstand an onslaught of nearly 4,000 missiles and drones being sent on them by a country 20x-2000x km their size and 6x-60x their population. A fantastically competent feat. On the other hand, Iran has spent the past 5 decades sinking all of its resources into funding civil wars abroad, killing and displacing millions of muslims. What remained of those resources was spent in kamikaze drones and missiles of which 67% were directed towards other muslims and 95% were intercepted. This violence and carnage is all the Iranian government has to show in return for putting their people through half a century of poverty, destruction and total isolation from the international community. That’s why 10m Iranians have fled that wretched life to live abroad (0.5m in the gcc) while you almost never find Gulf Arabs living anywhere but in their home that was likely built by their grandparents. So yeah, I’ll take a luxury hotel over whatever the hell is going on over there any day.
Daniel Haqiqatjou@Haqiqatjou

Iranian leadership: Let's build nuclear centrifuges and enrich uranium. Saudi leadership: Let's build another luxury hotel, but with a clock on top of it, like Big Ben. Iranian leadership: Drones are the weapon of the future. Let's build the cheapest, most effective kind. Saudi leadership: Let's build a random city in the desert, but make it a line and give it a cool name like Neom. Iranian leadership: Ballistic missiles will establish deterrence. Let's become a global leader in hypersonics. Saudi leadership: Let's build the biggest cube-shaped shopping mall in the world.

Iran has been engaged in violent hostilities towards the GCC ever since the Islamic revolution; long before the presence of US bases. Interestingly, MOST of the attacks took place before the establishment of US presence in GCC bases, and STOPPED for 15 years after the establishment of the bases. Notably, the GCC never responded militantly to any of these hostilities. Iran casualties caused by the GCC in response, to date, is 0. Whats more; it was the GCC who extended the hand of friendship to Iran in the late 2010s and early 2020s culminating with Saudi Arabia asking China to help broker a deal between them despite there being little to gain from it for the GCC countries other than achieving regional stability and quelling the bloodshed in Syria and Yemen. Now lets go through them. Islamic Revolution: 1979. 1. 1981 Bahrain: failed Iran-backed coup attempt. 2. 1983 Kuwait: bombings of embassies, airport, residential compounds, government facilities and petrochemical/refinery sites 86 casualties 3. 1985 Kuwait: assassination attempt on Emir via suicide bomber 5. 1986 Mecca/Hajj: explosives found Iranian operative pilgrims’ luggage 6. 1987 Mecca: Iranian operatives under cover as pilgrims start clashes during Hajj 7. 1989 Mecca: bombings near the Grand Mosque 17 casualties 8. 1996 Saudi Arabia: Khobar Towers bombing 391 casualties 9. 2015 Bahrain: Sitra bombing 8 casualties 10. 2016 Bahrain: foiled IRGC bombing plot 11. 2019 UAE Fujairah: sabotage of four commercial vessels This isn’t even touching on their bloody involvement in Yemen, Iraq and Syria. So next time someone says Iran is attacking the GCC because of US bases, poke their eyes with this thread. 🪡

This war isn’t good vs evil. it’s evil vs evil. Iran calls itself “anti-Zionist,” yet helped invade Iraq (2003) and Afghanistan (2001), helped kill 700,000 Syrians, armed militias, and now has launched over 4,000 drones and missiles at GCC cities. Israel, meanwhile, genocides Gaza and strikes Lebanon and Syria but gets less than 800 drones and missiles attacks from Iran. Let the evils🇮🇱🇮🇷 fight each other to extinction.
