Political Islam, in both its Sunni branch represented by Turkey and its Shia branch represented by Iran, has as its primary goal the fight against Israel. No matter how much they differ outwardly, they agree on hostility toward Israel. Today, the Kurds propose a pragmatic political approach based on partnership in exchange for guarantees. As a dealmaker, we call for a clear strategic agreement built on: 1. Supporting a fair federal solution that guarantees Kurdish political rights in Iran within a democratic framework. 2. Improving and securing the political and security status of Kurds in Syria, preventing past scenarios from recurring. 3. Recognizing a unified Kurdish representation for direct and transparent negotiations instead of fragmented engagement. 4. Establishing a clear strategic partnership based on full political and security coordination. Providing support to a single Kurdish faction does not represent the Kurdish position as a whole and creates strategic miscalculations. The correct approach is to enter through the political door—engaging with unified Kurdish representation to craft a comprehensive agreement. If such guarantees are provided, the Kurdish people—committed partners with a legitimate cause—can form a strong and effective front and contribute decisively to regional stability and confronting shared threats.
