@TheWARmonger_ Cool stuff. Forgive me for my cavemen brain. I don’t know how the underlying Statcast data pulls - but in my head, Jackson’s 90% makes more sense, as there are probably a dozen or so of other ballparks where that ball is a routine fly ball, not a home run robbery - Is that fair?

@khalilsburner No, it's not doing all that, but I know of at least one team that has a much more detailed model that looks at all of that. I'm confident pretty much all teams have their own models they base off the basic Statcast data.

Classic Tatis sliding grab coming in on this one yesterday, just a 35% catch probability according to Statcast. He makes these look routine (they're not).

I agree it can have issues around the wall, it's a better measure of range because it can do distance/time nearly perfectly. With Jackson's, it's more saying that 90%+ of outfielders are able to get to that spot in that amount of time. Feel free to add your own subjectivity for the robbery, but keep in mind that wall is only 6 feet tall.

If it’s a strike, it’s a strike. NFL doesn’t change the goal posts depending on the ref, NBA doesn’t have different boundaries on the court. I’d rather have this than umpires having their own strike zone

Tigers broadcast talking highly about Kyle Hart’s kick change (being misclassified as a splitter). Hart had a plus pitch in his sweeper versus lefties last year but struggled mightily versus righties so this pitch could be a difference maker for him.
