Searxly@Searxly
Since the WWDC26 Apple Intelligence upgrades landed, we’ve been actively working on integrating the new on-device capabilities into Searxly’s Local AI.
We’re currently building with the updated Foundation Models (including native Tool and Generable support for reliable agentic behavior) and Core AI features. The goal is to make Local AI both a natural conversational assistant and a proactive agent that can take real actions inside the browser for you, all while keeping everything 100% on your Mac, and while being performant too.
This means the AI will be able to understand intent in chat and then use tools to do things like perform private web searches through your own configured SearXNG instances, open websites, search your local history and bookmarks, open results in new tabs, or bookmark pages with notes, faster than before. No cloud, no data leaving the device, and no public fallbacks, only your private instances and local data.
We’re iterating on the prompt rules, tool wiring, visible thinking states, and proper grounding so it feels useful as both a chatbot and a browser agent without compromising the strict privacy contract.
Early integration is moving forward. More updates as we test and refine it.
