A projectile also landed near the Bushehr nuclear plant perimeter, killing one guard. This isn't incidental. Israel's political leadership explicitly instructed the IDF weeks ago to shift toward "economic targets." Maximum financial damage to the regime rather than pure military degradation. Today is that doctrine in action. Mahshahr is one of Iran's most important industrial hubs; petrochemicals, export revenue, the economic backbone of Khuzestan province. Here's why it matters strategically: you can hide launchers in tunnels. You can't hide a refinery.
