32 Years of Excellence Legislative Achievements and Parliamentary Work In addition to his legal career, Attorney Khalid Hussain Al-Shatti is distinguished by a pioneering legislative and political career:** Member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly (second annulled) in 2012 and Member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly in 2016 representing the First Constituency. Chairman of the Legislative Committee in the National Assembly for the third and fourth legislative sessions, and a member of the Legislative Committee during the first and second legislative sessions. Sponsor of several notable laws, including the Ja’fari Personal Status Law, the Law on the Abolition of Prior Censorship on Books and Publications, the Innocents Law (Petition for Reconsideration), the Right to Access Information Law, and various other significant laws. He attained first place in legislative achievement in the 2016 National Assembly. He held the position of member and rapporteur in the Committee for the Protection of Public Funds, and was a member of the Priorities Committee, the Women and Family Affairs Committee, and the Committee on Negative Phenomena Infiltrating Kuwaiti Society. He defended the victims of sectarian extremism at the level of ideas, cases, individuals, and minorities.
