@khhauthor @tomandmartys @TeeShot560 Of course it's intentional, no one intimated it wasn't. Unless you have a split screen you can only see one shot at a time. It's necessary in order to maintain suspense and drama.

@khhauthor @tomandmartys @TeeShot560 Why would they tell us every time a shot is recorded? We're talking a delay of seconds to minutes. It's only possible to show one player at a time. This isn't a revelation, it's just what has to be done. Like at The Masters when you hear a roar then you see what precipitated it.

@tomandmartys @Irish_On_Tour @TeeShot560 Not a company man at all. Dod it the other way for 3 decades. They DELIBERATELY don’t update the leaderboard because they want to pretend they’re getting places live. No biggie. It’s their choice. We choose not to do that.

There’s a clear difference between showing taped coverage as live, and the TV production not tipping the viewers off while they unstack shots that were happening simultaneously.

@JoeCafieroGR @ppargolfer We started at the top of the hour. The first break came 7:30 minutes in. Then we were on from 10 minutes past until 10:18 when I took commercial 2. You ARE correct only with regard to IN that time first tee shots were hit.

@ppargolfer @khhauthor Yeah. I wanted to see how Fox was and luckily have FS2. 10:15 start. 10:18 commercial break. And it was not just one. It was your standard commercial break you see all the time.

That’s also 4:24 of air time without a pharmaceutical commercial ✅ (For those of you counting at home)

@khhauthor @TeeShot560 The league can present their product however you guys want to, whether I like it or not. But using the word deceptive is accusatory. Waiting until a shot has been shown before updating the leaderboard is not trying to mislead the audience it's trying to preserve the drama.

@khhauthor @TeeShot560 Neither of us are right or wrong, it's just a difference of opinion. Calling other broadcasters deceptive is implying they are being nefarious when they're actually trying to make it as good as possible for viewers, just like you believe you are.

@Irish_On_Tour @TeeShot560 I’m quite clear on your point of view and, as I’ve said, I understand it. I’ll just reiterate that that score would be updated live on our pylon and we would show it at the earliest time possible. It’s the way the league does it.

@khhauthor @TeeShot560 Well I fundamentally disagree with this philosophy. The build up of suspense and drama as a tournament builds to a crescendo is central to what makes live golf fun to watch. If I know a 40 footer has gone in on the 71st hole before I've seen it then that ruins it. JMHO.

@khhauthor @TeeShot560 "Deceive the viewer." C'mon were talking about a golf broadcast. Obviously every shot isn't live, guys on different holes will be playing shots at the same time. Would you update the pylon when someone makes eagle to take the lead late in a final round before you show it?
